Wolferstans

Wolferstans Solicitors held a small presentation evening for the five winners of their competition. We were given a warm welcome, and after discussing our work with the Director and others from the company, we were presented with our cheques. It was said that the art had been a great success. It seems that people have strong opinions about it when they view it, and whether they like it or dislike it, it has created a thought provoking subject for discussion. Wolferstans are very happy with the reaction they are getting and thanked us for our submissions.

We were each asked if our work could be used for various marketing sources, websites, magazines etc. I agreed to this as I think publicity is good in whatever form it takes. I asked that I be credited for my work and that my email address should accompany it whenever it appears in publications.

Here are some images that I shot using Expired Film. I'm thinking of using some for the March Exhibition as I think they will fit in with our "Shabby Chic" theme.

Exhibition Display Idea

Jay brought to our attention the artist Ed Templeton, specifically, his method of exhibiting his work. We all agreed that this was a really good idea. As there are eight artist/photographers showing our work together, and as we do have an eclectic mix of styles, ideas and images, this method of display seems appropriate and interesting. The display itself becomes part of the art.

This is an example of Ed Templeton's work on display

Here is a Mobile image taken yesterday at Sprouts. This will be our Gallery Space

A work in Progress ...

This is the design for our Exhibition Poster that we were working on yesterday. It is not yet finalised but we are happy with the layout and font. Our names are not very clear on the copied image here but this is just an example of our work so far.

I suggested that we call ourselves "Eclectic Mix," one of our group commented that this had a better ring to it, and anothers' opinion was that it sounded like a band on X Factor!! I did think that was funny and was not insulted! It is the majority who will decide, my opinion was that the word eclectic on its own didn't say enough but I could be wrong.

We had also considered "A Collaborative Exhibition" s opposed to "An Open Exhibition" but could not as yet decide which was the most relevant.
